You may be a candidate for Botox® if you have lines or deep grooves along your forehead between your eyebrows, or around the corners of your eyes (crow’s feet) that bother you. Botox injections are a temporary solution for reducing the appearance of lines and can last anywhere from 3-5 months. Dr. Kearney performs Botox injections in the office and there is no anesthetic required and no downtime. You may return to normal activities immediately following your appointment. It usually takes 3-4 days to see the effects of Botox. Botox can also be used to treat overactive sweat glands in the armpits as well as help in the treatment of Migraine headaches. On an occasional patient, Botox is used in the mouth area to decease the appearance of vertical lip lines.

If You’re Considering Scar Revision…
Scars, whether they’re caused by accidents or by surgery, are unpredictable. The way a scar develops depends as much on how your body heals as it does on the original injury or on the surgeon’s skills.
Many variables can affect the severity of scarring, including the size and depth of the wound, the blood supply to the area, the thickness and color of your skin, and the direction of the scar. How much the appearance of a scar bothers you is, of course, a personal matter.
While no scar can be removed completely, plastic surgeons can often improve the appearance of a scar, making it less obvious through the injection or application of certain steroid medications or through surgical procedures known as scar revisions.
If you’re considering scar revision, this will give you a basic understanding of the most common types of scars, the procedures used to treat them, and the results you can expect. It can’t answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything about the procedure you don’t understand.
After Scar Revision
With any kind or scar revision, it’s very important to follow your surgeon’s instructions after surgery to make sure the wound heals properly. Although you may be up and about very quickly, your surgeon will advise you on gradually resuming your normal activities.
As you heal, keep in mind that no scar can be removed completely; the degree of improvement depends on the size and direction of your scar, the nature and quality of your skin, and how well you care for the wound after the operation. If your scar looks worse at first, don’t panic-the final results of your surgery may not be apparent for a year or more.
For Scar Revision in Los Angeles please contact Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jay Granzow.

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.
For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.
If you’re considering ear surgery for yourself or your child, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it’s performed, and what results you can expect. It can’t answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask Dr. Charles Ebert in Las Vegas if there is anything you don’t understand about the procedure.

“Doc, I hate these wings!” This is a common refrain heard by many Los Angeles Plastic Surgeons, from patients who complain about the redundant, excess skin and fat of their upper arms. There are many reasons why patients develop this problem. Weight loss, the aging process, after Gastric Bypass Surgery and various medical conditions all can be the cause. The common complaint is that the skin and soft tissues hang creating an unsightly appearance even when the arms are fully covered. Short sleeve shirts and blouses can leave patients feeling embarrassed and constantly aware of the issue, but there is hope! An Arm Lift, or Liposuction, or both, may be the answer.
Patients who are candidates for an Arm lift include people who have:
* Loose skin of the upper arms
* Had significant weight loss
* Excessively full upper arms
* Embarrassment from redundant upper arm soft tissues
Patients should always begin with a thorough consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Warren Lent, A Board certified Beverly Hills, Plastic Surgeon, will meet with you to examine you and fully assess your needs. He will make a recommendation as to which treatment, such as an Arm Lift or Liposuction may best serve your needs.
An Arm Lift is usually performed under general anesthesia. Before surgery, the amount of skin and fat to be removed will be estimated and markings will be placed accordingly. Unlike most physicians, Dr. Lent places the incision on the underside of the arm in a location making the resulting scars as inconspicuous as possible. On some occasions the incision can be placed in the Axilla (armpit). Prior to surgery, all patients are asked to avoid any medication, which thins the blood, such as Aspirin, for at least two weeks. Patients are told to avoid exercise and heavy lifting for at least six weeks after surgery.
Like all medical treatment an Arm Lift is generally a safe procedure, but there are risks. The risks include bleeding, infection, skin injury and the risk of anesthesia. Under the care of a Board Certified Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon, like Dr. Lent, every effort will be made to prevent and minimize risk to make your outcome a successful one. It is very important that smokers quit smoking and using nicotine products for at least one month before and for at least one month after surgery.
An Arm Lift is an excellent way for men and women to tighten and lift their upper arms. This can result in a more youthful and firmer appearance. Patients are usually thrilled at having their “wings” removed, giving them greater freedom to wear normal clothing again and participate in all physical activities. Most importantly, Dr. Lent’s Beverly Hills, Plastic Surgery patients comment on their renewed sense of self-image and self-confidence.
To best understand all of your options, a full consultation with Dr. Warren Lent is recommended. For further details on each aspect of an Arm Lift, Dr. Lent invites you to visit his collection of articles in his Arm/Thigh Info Center, Liposuction Info Center or Gastric Bypass Info Center.

For most people, the nose is the most prominent feature on the face, so it’s no wonder that surgery to change the shape of the nose, known as rhinoplasty Atlanta, is one of the most popular at our Atlanta-area practice. Rhinoplasty Atlanta can be used to decrease or increase the length or width of the nose, or to change the shape or angle of the tip or bridge. It can also be used to straighten or enlarge malformed nasal passages that restrict breathing.
To perform rhinoplasty Atlanta at our Georgia center, Dr. Davoudi begins by making incisions either inside the nose or in the skin between the nostrils, so that there is little of no visible scarring. The skin is gently lifted away from the cartilage which supports the nose, so that it can be sculpted into a shape that is more in harmony with the general contours of the face. If the cartilage in the center of the nose is inhibiting airflow, it will be corrected.
Many features which are not desirable in a nose may be improved through Rhinoplasty Atlanta. Noses may be made narrower, straighter, longer or shorter. Humps may be removed and the shape, size and angle and definition of the tip of the nose may be altered. Breathing problems caused by a deviated septum may be corrected. Rhinoplasty Atlanta may be performed at any time after facial growth has been completed that is age 15-16 for women and age 16-17 for men. The ideal outcome for Rhinoplasty Atlanta is a natural appearing with balance and harmony, enhancing beauty of the eyes and lips.

A facelift restores smoother, more pleasing contours to your face and neck. It can help you look as good as you feel, and perhaps feel younger than you are.
Am I a good candidate for a facelift?
Any one or combination of the following conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for a facelift:
* a deep line, or fold, running from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth.
* jowls, or loss of a well-defined jawline associated with youthfulness.
* deep wrinkles in the cheeks and sagging of the “highlight” areas of the cheekbones.
* loose skin, wrinkles, vertical “cords” or excess fatty tissue in the neck.
A facelift can improve all of these problems. It cannot, however, correct conditions such as sagging eyebrows, excess skin and fatty deposits in the upper and lower eyelids, or wrinkles around the mouth. Your plastic surgeon can provide further information if you have an interest in other procedures to treat these areas.
Dr. Michael Schwartz in California can help you to achieve your goals. He specializes in procedures relating to facelift surgery including procedures such as breast augmentation and tummy tucks. To schedule an appointment or to learn more about a facelift, please contact us today.

Vaginal Rejuvenation is frequently requested after a woman has given birth. Often with normal vaginal deliveries the vagina is torn and never regains its original tone. With Vaginal rejuvenation the vaginal muscles are tightened and the area can be made tighter than the original orifice. Scarring is internal and not visible and the procedure is safe and reliable.
Dr. Benjamin Chu in Hawaii can help you to achieve your goals. He specializes in procedures relating to vaginal rejuvenation including procedures such as face lifts, breast augmentation, nose jobs, ear pinning, liposuction, and tummy tucks. To schedule an appointment or to learn more about a vaginal rejuvenation, please contact us today.

Plastic surgeons use facial implants to improve and enhance facial contours. Frequently, these implants will help provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you feel better about the way you look.
Cheek implant surgery usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes. When cheek implants are being placed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure, such as a facelift, forehead lift or eyelid surgery, the implants may be inserted through the incisions made for those procedures. Otherwise, an incision will be made either inside your upper lip or your lower eyelid. A pocket is then formed and an implant is inserted.
After surgery, a dressing will be applied to minimize discomfort and swelling. The severity and duration of such side effects may vary, especially if another cosmetic procedure was performed at the same time.
If you are considering cheek augmentation in Phoenix Arizona contact cosmetic surgeon Robert Marouk. Facial plastic surgery procedures offered at the Cosmetic Surgical Art Center in Phoenix Arizona include facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, neck lift surgery, blepharoplasty, lip augmentation and ear surgery.

Dr. Flint will see you in the office at one week, one month and four months post-operatively. Most people return to work one week after surgery. No lifting or athletic activities are allowed for three weeks because it can cause excessive swelling and bruising. The results will be obvious within two weeks of surgery, but the final results will be evident in three to four months.

All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and Risk
When ear surgery is performed by a qualified, experienced surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, as with any operation, there are risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure.
A small percentage of patients may develop a blood clot on the ear. It may dissolve naturally or can be drawn out with a needle.
Occasionally, patients develop an infection in the cartilage, which can cause scar tissue to form. Such infections are usually treated with antibiotics; rarely, surgery may be required to drain the infected area.

Breast Augmentation in La Jolla is also known as breast enlargement or breast enhancement in La Jolla. Breast augmentation in La Jolla is among the most popular procedures in our practice. The numbers of augmentation surgery done annually has increased steadily in the past few years. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in 2003, more than 250,000 women had breast augmentation. Dr. Rechnic has been performing the surgery for over 20 years.
Breast augmentation and breast implants have been extensively studied and are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Silicone gel implants are still considered for “investigational” use for reconstruction, and other limited applications as of January 2005. We recommend that all patients read the FDA Breast Implant Consumer Handbook, available on line at: http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants/indexbip.html

As people age, effects of gravity to the sun, and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth, the jaw line grows slack and jowly, folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. One should know that the face lift can’t stop the aging process. It can only “set back the clock”, improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, Tightening underlying muscles and re draping the skin of your face and neck. A face lift can also be done along with other procedures such as forehead lift, eyelid surgery or nose reshaping.
Suitable candidate for face lift:
* A man or a woman whose face and neck have began to sag but whose skin still has some elasticity.
* Whose patients bone structure is strong and well defined.
* Most patients are in their forties to sixties. But face lift can be done successfully on people in their seventies or eighties as well.
* A face lift can make you look younger and fresher may enhance your self confidence in the process. But it can’t give you a totally different look, nor can it restore the healthy and vitality of your youth.
Risks involved:
* When a facelift is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, the complications and risks involved are minor. By following the doctors advise closely you can reduce your risks.
* Hematoma C a collection of blood under the skin that most be removed by the surgeon.
* Injury to the nerves that control facial muscles which are usually temporary.
* Infection and reactions to anesthesia.
* Smokers are usually affected by poor healing.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE?
Liposuction is an excellent procedure for reducing and reshaping the fat of the body. It can be done at almost any age. The best results are in people with good skin tone, so that the skin will shrink down to the reduced size of the underlying tissues. Loose, sagging skin will remain so after liposuction, so people with this problem may instead require a surgical lift.
Liposuction is a good treatment for diet-resistant fat, but it is not really suitable as a substitute for weight loss. By State law, liposuction of more than 5 kilograms (about 11 pounds) of material (combined fat plus body fluids plus injected fluids) requires that a patient stay overnight in a hospital. To avoid this expense and the higher risks associated with such “large-volume liposuction,” Dr. Cedars will not remove more than this amount, which translates into at most 8-9 pounds of fat. Practically, diet and exercise are a better route to weight loss for most people, saving liposuction to achieve body shaping or sculpting.
WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED?
The treated areas will be thinner, typically flatter, and more shapely. Large bumps will be removed or reduced. While there is an immediate shape change after surgery, some swelling is normal. Most goes away over a month, but the final shape may not appear until perhaps 6 months.
It is a common misconception that if you remove, say, 5 pounds of fat with liposuction and then gain 5 pounds, you will end up the shape you started. In fact, the new weight will instead be distributed all over the body. It is possible to defeat the operation, however—if you gain large amounts of weight, some of it will go to the the treated areas—so we recommend exercise and an appropriate diet to be healthy and fit at any weight.
AFTERCARE
Pain typically requires mild narcotic pills for several days. Depending on the size of the area treated, most people are back at work within a week. To help shape and smooth the treated areas, the compression garment is worn for a month.

Botox treatments are becoming increasingly popular, and with good reason. In many cases, Botox is a very effective method for reducing wrinkles. Botox can be used to smooth wrinkles in the neck and face to create a more youthful appearance. It is especially useful in the eye area. Removing wrinkles from between the eyes can dramatically change a person’s look from one of permanent anger or sadness to one of contentment and restedness. It is also frequently used on the thin wrinkles that surround the eyes (often called “crows feet”) and the mouth, but can also be used in other areas, such as along the chin and jaw.
The solution used in these treatments is made of botulinum A toxin, a purified protein made from botulism bacteria. This solution temporarily paralyzes nerves of the facial muscles so that they cannot contract and cause wrinkles in the area being treated. Botox may also be helpful in treating migraine headaches, and can be used to decrease excess sweating of the palms and underarms.

Many women are concerned about laxity and looseness of the upper thigh area. This can be a result of significant weight loss or simply loss of skin elasticity over time. Also the quality of the skin can change due to collagen damage from sun exposure.
The Thigh lift procedure is designed to remove excess skin, achieving attractive looking upper legs. Many patients state that they would not wear shorts or a bathing suit because of the loose skin on the upper legs. After the thighplasty procedure they have renewed confidence in their appearance and begin wearing clothing they previously avoided.
There are different types of thigh lifting procedures. For those that complain of the excess skin on the outer thighs, a Lateral Thigh Lift procedure targets that area. This procedure is designed to tighten skin on the front and the sides of the leg. The incision is made at the top of the leg. Dr. Mills will discuss the location of the incision in detail with you at the consultation. He will demonstrate how removing the excess skin will achieve a tighter, more youthful looking leg contour.

Excessively large breasts can contribute to neck and back pain, breast pain, and poor posture. A breast reduction addresses and removes this excess tissue while sculpting the breast into a smaller, more comfortable shape.
This plastic surgeon focuses on plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery procedures including breast reductions and other reconstructive surgical procedures. Please contact us today to learn more about this procedure.
Patients who desire a breast reduction in Los Angeles may have symptoms caused by the excessive weight of large breasts. Breast reduction usually can solve these problems as well as improve the size and shape of your breasts. Following breast reduction, your breasts will be more proportional to the rest of your body, and clothes will fit you better. Such factors may boost an individual’s confidence, leading them to seek their own breast reduction in Los Angeles.
Breast reduction can be performed at any age, but plastic surgeons usually recommend waiting until breast development has stopped. Childbirth and breast-feeding may have significant and unpredictable effects on the size and shape of your breasts. Nevertheless, many women decide to undergo breast reduction before having children and feel that they can address any subsequent changes later. If you plan to breast-feed in the future, you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

What is a blepharoplasty?
Over time, during normal aging or even with weight loss, the face will change resulting in excess skin laxity, joweling, wrinkling and even elongation of the facial skeleton itself compelling patients to seek correction. In addition, the skin of the eyelids may also sag resulting even in obstruction of vision. Eyelid surgery aims to restore the eyelid by removing excess skin, fat, and muscle. Dr. Kayser is a Michigan Plastic Surgeon who is Board Certified in Plastic surgery. As a perfectionist, Dr. Kayser will take all measures necessary to ensure that your results are the best that he can offer.
How long does a blepharoplasty last?
Although aging will always continue, one can expect long term changes with their eyelid surgery.
In addition, as the face ages, it actually looses volume and current trends in facial rejuvenation include the actual transfer of your own fat to help restore the natural contours of youth. This can also be applied to the periorbital region (the area around the eye) whereby the fat that is normally removed can actually be used to replace the volume lost in the upper cheek. Read Dr. Kayser’s article on fat grafting (Lipostructure) or call Dr. Kayser for a complete consultation to answer all your questions.
Can other procedures be combined with a blepharoplasty?
The face can actually be divided into thirds with the upper third including the forehead the middle portion including the eyes and lower third including the cheeks and jowels. These areas can easily be combined with eyelid surgery and actually help to maintain a uniform appearance.
How can I schedule a consultation with Dr. Kayser?
Considering a blepharoplasty is usually a well thought out process and, at Image by Design Plastic Surgery, we strive to ensure that all your questions are fully answered. Indeed, it is Dr. Kayser himself who conducts the entire consultation - a complete and thorough evaluation dedicated to each patient by the plastic surgeon that will be performing the procedure. This may take more time but it is essential so that each patient can make a fully informed decision.

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Plastic surgeons will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases your plastic surgeon may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

Contrary to popular belief, a tight face is not synonymous with a young face. Indeed, outdated procedures that simply tighten or lift the skin often result in patient disappointment and frustration.Today, facial rejuvenation surgery entails much more than simply cutting excess or loose skin. With the help of a qualified plastic surgeon, successful facial rejuvenation surgery can result in a youthful natural appearance.
Choosing A Plastic Surgeon
Successful plastic surgery depends on a surgeon with proper experience, technical skill, aesthetic vision and innate talent. For this reason, choosing a proficient plastic surgeon is the top priority when considering any cosmetic procedure. Initially, patients should obtain referrals from their family physician, relatives, friends and/or other acquaintances in appropriate social settings.
Patients should consult with multiple–at least two or three–board-certified plastic surgeons certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. Ensuring satisfactory certification is just the start, however. Ultimately, you will want to choose a surgeon with an excellent reputation for producing successful results each and every time.
Patients should also ask to see multiple photographs of a surgeon’s previous work. Likewise, patients should feel free to bring old photographs of themselves that reflect an idea of their expectations. While nothing is guaranteed, the surgical expectations of a particular patient are often clarified through old photographs. Combined with the surgeon’s aesthetic talent and trained eye, old photographs serve as the foundation for a youthful outcome.

Breast augmentation (or augmentation mammaplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge and shape the breasts. Some of the reasons women seek breast enlargement surgery are to change the size or shape of their breasts, to bring balance when a breast that is smaller than the other, and to correct a loss of volume or fullness after weight loss or pregnancy.
Some women benefit from having a mastopexy (breast lift) along with the augmentation when the breasts are sagging.
The Procedure
Breast augmentation surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia and usually takes less than 2 hours. The incisions are small and usually located underneath the breast just above the crease or around the lower edge of the areola to keep scars as inconspicuous as possible. After the incision has been made, the surgeon creates a pocket into which the implant is inserted; either directly behind the breast tissue or beneath the muscle.
About the Implants
Most women receive saline-filled implants which are filled with sterile saltwater. The implants may also be filled with silicone gel, although the use of these implants is limited to patients who fill certain requirements. Your surgeon can provide you with information on the latest implant research. Dr. Gross offers cohesive breast implants.
Recovery
Upon leaving the operating room you will be wearing a supportive, elastic bra. Initial discomfort will be controlled with oral medication. Within a day or two you should be up and around and can resume light activities. After several weeks most of the swelling will be gone, exercise can be resumed and you will start to see your final results.
Results
Most women who have breast enlargement surgery are very pleased with the results and find that their new figure is more proportioned and gives them a greater sense of self-confidence.
Risks
The risks associated with breast enlargement surgery are not great. However, it should be noted that a small percentage of women may experience capsular contracture (a hardening of the scar tissue that forms around the implant which may require a surgical revision.) It is also important to keep in mind that most implants have to be replaced at some point within a woman’s lifetime as they are not life-long devices.
Pasadena plastic surgeon John Gross offers breast augmentation using saline breast implants and silicone breast implants.

The chemical peel is a widely accepted procedure to eradicate fine wrinkles in the skin. The procedure can be performed alone or at a later date after face lift or eyelid surgery.
Patients with fair complexions are better candidates as the chemical peel can remove pigment from the skin creating a line of demarcation between treated and untreated skin in patients with darker complexions.
The chemical peel creates a raw surface which heals in approximately ten days. Once healed, makeup can be applied. The peeled skin is initially red and rapidly fades to pink. This pink color may last for several months. Care must be taken to protect this skin from sun exposure by using a sun screen for at least six months.
Light chemical peels can be performed in the office. Deeper or full face peels are performed on an outpatient basis in a surgical center.

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems.
If you’re considering rhinoplasty, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it’s performed, and what results you can expect. It can’t answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on the individual patient and the surgeon. Please ask your Dr. Malcolm Rude about anything you don’t understand.
The Best Candidates for Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence, but it won’t necessarily change your looks to match your ideal, or cause other people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon.
The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you’re physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.
Rhinoplasty can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes-to correct birth defects or breathing problems.
Planning Your Surgery
Good communication between you and your physician is essential. In your initial consultation, the surgeon will ask what you’d like your nose to look like, evaluate the structure of your nose and face, and discuss the possibilities with you. He or she will also explain the factors that can influence the procedure and the results. These factors include the structure of your nasal bones and cartilage, the shape of your face, the thickness of your skin, your age, and your expectations.
Be sure to tell your surgeon if you’ve had any previous nose surgery or an injury to your nose, even if it was many years ago. You should also inform your surgeon if you have any allergies or breathing difficulties; if you’re taking any medications, vitamins, or recreational drugs; and if you smoke.
The Surgery
Rhinoplasty usually takes an hour or two, though complicated procedures may take longer. During surgery the skin of the nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. The nature of the sculpting will depend on your problem and your surgeon’s preferred technique. Finally, the skin is redraped over the new framework.

A forehead lift addresses the area of the upper face. It restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area, making you look less tired, angry, or sad, by correcting drooping brows and improving the horizontal lines on your forehead. It is frequently performed with an upper lid blepharoplasty and can be performed with a face lift to provide facial balance and harmony.
The goal of the procedure is to raise the brow to a more aesthetically appealing position. It will also improve fullness over the outside corner of the lid, a scowling appearance of the eyes and horizontal frown lines of the forehead. It is not intended to create a look of surprise or what is commonly called the “deer in the headlights” look. Botox is not a substitute for a forehead lift, it can give you an idea of what to expect. Dr. Friedlander will show you potential areas of benefit during your consultation.
Several different approaches may be used, such as an endoscopic approach, a lateral brow and transblepharoplasy approach and rarely a coronal approach. Most often, only small incisions are required. The procedure is often performed with face lift and/or blepharoplasty. There may be some postoperative swelling or bruising, which resolves relatively quickly. You are able to return to work in a week if no other surgery is being performed.

Liposuction (or suction-assisted lipectomy) has become one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. Proven to be safe with minimal scarring and outstanding results, liposuction is the preferred method for removing fat from the, thighs, buttocks and midriff, as well as areas of the face, neck and arms. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight reduction, but can be very effective in removing fat from areas that do not respond to diet and exercise programs.
Suction-assisted lipectomy is performed by a doctor on an outpatient basis. A narrow tube (cannula) is inserted through a small incision. The doctor then manipulates the cannula, which is connected to a strong vacuum, breaking up fatty areas and suctioning out the fat.
Board certified plastic surgeon Dr T Lim is located in Anaheim and offers body contouring procedures for patients throughout Southern California including Hacienda Heights and Fullerton.

Breast reconstruction is one of the most challenging and rewarding areas of plastic surgery. Dr. Kind is one of a very few surgeons performing the deep inferior epigastric perforator or DIEP flap for breast reconstruction. This technique allows for the breast to be reconstructed with the patient’s own tissues, without the loss of any muscle. Dr. Kind has been performing this procedure since 1998. Patients from all over Northern California and beyond have come to San Francisco to be treated by Dr. Kind.
If you would like to speak to or contact one of Dr. Kind’s breast reconstruction (DIEP) patients, please contact Dr. Kind’s office.
BREAST RECONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW
There are many techniques available to reconstruct a breast following mastectomy. All of the techniques can be performed at the time of mastectomy. This is referred to as “immediate” breast reconstruction. Immediate breast reconstruction saves the patient at least one subsequent operation, and has been shown to have a significant psychological benefit, as the patient never experiences a mastectomy defect.

Abdominoplasty procedures are appropriate for patients with extra skin on their abdomen or for women who have developed loose stomach muscles after pregnancy. Abdominoplasty can remove loose skin and tighten muscles which have been separated. This procedure results in a dramatically flattened abdomen with an incision that is hidden by underwear or a bathing suit. Abdominoplasty is often combined with Liposuction particularly of the waist, abdomen and back to result in the most dramatic improvement in these areas, especially the waistline. Abdominoplasty incisions vary in length and are customized for each patient. In every case, Dr. Anthony will recommend the smallest incision which will meet your goals of a tighter, flatter abdomen.
Recovery time will vary for each patient and Dr. Anthony will discuss this with you at your consultation. The results after Abdominoplasty are often quite dramatic and should last a lifetime. Read more about Tummy Tuck in San Francisco…

* Reduced risk of infection-because the procedure is performed through one small incision away from the breast area

The beauty benefits of a shower are usually what you bring to it: shampoo and conditioner, face wash, body scrub, etc. You can’t really rely on your shower head to do anything cosmetically magical…or can you?
New Zealand’s Methven has created the Satinjet Maia. Created under Karyn Grossman MD’s guidance, the Maia uses filtering and meticulous massaging to allow the water touching your skin to improve your skin. It eliminates chlorine with a special vitamin C cartridge, preventing the weakening of skin’s protectively barrier and the dehydration of hair—especially chemically and color-treated hair. By twisting the head, the jets create a uniquely gentle and circulation-stimulating stream of water appropriate for face and body, respectively.
Methven, New Zealand’s oldest and largest designer and manufacturer of shower heads, faucets and hot water heater valves, marks its debut into the US market with the lunch of Satinjet Maia - a multi-functional shower head that delivers the healthy benefits of a spa experience directly to the privacy of one’s own bathroom. Founded in 1886, Methven is now a publicly-traded company dedicated to transforming a simple shower into the ultimate at-home spa experience. Methven is renowned for its breakthrough design and product development, distinctive aesthetics and environmental-mindedness.
One of our favorite features—the facial massage position prompts only the outer jets to flow, creating a “breathing zone” to let you enjoy a longer face-washing session.

Dr. William Adams focuses on plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery procedures including breast reductions and other reconstructive surgical procedures. Please contact us today to learn more about this procedure.
Patients who desire a breast reduction in Dallas may have symptoms caused by the excessive weight of large breasts. Breast reduction usually can solve these problems as well as improve the size and shape of your breasts. Following breast reduction, your breasts will be more proportional to the rest of your body, and clothes will fit you better. Such factors may boost an individual’s confidence, leading them to seek their own breast reduction in Dallas.
Please contact Dr. Adams to learn more about getting a breast reduction in Dallas.
During the consultation, you will be asked about your desired breast size as well as anything else about your breasts that you would like to see improved. This will help your plastic surgeon to understand your expectations and determine whether they realistically can be achieved. Once your goals have been determined you will set a date for this procedure in Dallas and will be given instructions about how to prepare.
When the date for your breast reduction in Dallas has arrived, you should plan on the surgery taking several hours or more. The most common method of reducing the breasts involves three incisions. One incision is made around the areola. Another runs vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease underneath the breast. The third incision follows the natural curve of the breast crease.
After the plastic surgeon in Dallas has removed excess breast tissue, fat and skin, the nipple and areola are shifted to a higher position. The areola, which in large breasts usually has been stretched, also is reduced in size. Skin that was formerly located above the nipple is brought down and together to reshape the breast. Liposuction may be used to improve the contour under the arm. Usually, the nipples and areolas remain attached to underlying mounds of tissue, and this allows for the preservation of sensation. All procedures are performed with anesthesia to minimize any discomfort or pain.

If you desire body contouring of the following areas: abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, back, chest areas, upper arms, inner and outer thighs, inner knees, calves or ankles. If you feel that your chin and neck areas are sagging and contouring will give you a more youthful appearance. If you are a man with an enlarged chest. (gynecomastia)

The new CO2 pulse lasers are effective for treating fine wrinkles that occur with aging and exposure to the elements. We are using them for blepharoplasty and facial resurfacing either with or without facelift surgery. The laser also treats the vertical wrinkles that occur in the upper lip area. This new method for Laser Skin Resurfacing takes advantage of the abilitt of the laser to penetrate the skin to a precise depth. The consistency and degree of penetration affords an even effect over the entire treated area. The superficial skin is shed and new skin regenerates, providing a fresher, smoother appearance.
After the treatment the skin resembles a deep sunburn for about ten days. The redness fades and turns pink within a few weeks. Makeup can easily camouflage the pink color which disappears in one to three months.
During the healing process, we advise that patients avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
Potential postoperative complications of pigmentary changes of the skin are managed through the preoperative and postoperative use of hydraquinone and retinoid creams. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are other problems for which the laser has application. The laser also removes small blood vessels, birthmarks, and tatoos from the skin.

There are a wide variety of cosmetic procedures available to help reshape and redefine your body. The type of surgery best for you depends on a number of factors, among them your age, skin tone, and body type. Ask Dr. Frank which surgery is the right one to help you to achieve your personal body contouring goals.
If lower abdominal stretch marks or redundant skin across the lower abdomen is keeping you from wearing the clothes you’d like, keeping you from exercising, or spoiling what you see when you look in the mirror, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) may be a good choice for you.
A Tummy Tuck actually involves two body changing procedures. Obviously, there is excision of redundant skin and fat on the lower abdomen but, less obviously, the weakness of the abdominal wall is tightened cinching in the waist several inches. Sometimes an old C-section scar is used to avoid new scars.
The procedure is done under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. You can often resume many of your routine activities within weeks of surgery.

Introduction:
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery operation that helps sculpt the body by removing fat from specific areas like the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks, and neck. The fat is usually removed through a cannula (a hollow tube) and aspirator (a suction device). Liposuction is not a substitute for dieting and exercise, but it can remove stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to traditional weight loss methods.
Best candidates for liposuction:
You may be a candidate for liposuction (liposculpture) if you have areas of excess fat that bother you. Sometimes even with diet and exercise these localized fatty deposits can remain. Areas where you might carry excess fat include the arms, back, chest, stomach, thighs, hips and buttocks.
Dr. Kearney performs liposculpture under general or local anesthesia and you may go home the same day. Using tiny canulas or suction tubes, Dr. Kearney removes excess fat from the desired areas. Incisions are very small and placed as inconspicuously as possible. Depending on the number of areas treated and the amount of fat removed, you are usually able to return to work a few days after the procedure. Normal activity can often be resumed within a few weeks.

Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat–usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. However, it won’t remove crow’s feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes, it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or browlift.
If you’re considering eyelid surgery, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it’s performed, and what results you can expect. It can’t answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on the individual patient and the surgeon. Please ask your surgeon about anything you don’t understand.
Your New Look
Healing is a gradual process, and your scars may remain slightly pink for six months or more after surgery. Eventually, though, they’ll fade to a thin, nearly invisible white line.
On the other hand, the positive results of your eyelid surgery-the more alert and youthful look-will last for years. For many people, these results are permanent.

Rhinoplasty is nasal surgery which is designed to improve the appearance of the nose, and/or the function of the nose in regards to breathing.
Rhinoplasty is often considered the most challenging type of plastic surgery, and choosing the exact procedure involves studying the relationship of the nose to the rest of the face, and reshaping the nose to enhance facial balance. No other plastic surgery is individualized to the degree that rhinoplasty must be. A thorough examination, careful discussion of the patient’s goals, and a review of photographic imaging are important in establishing the surgical plan. I usually recommend at least two separate preoperative consultations, to ensure clear communication between patient and surgeon, and to allow an accurate and complete analysis of the patient’s goals and nasal anatomy.
Either ‘closed’ or ‘open’ techniques of rhinoplasty may be performed. The closed technique uses only incisions inside the nostrils, and may suffice for more straight-forward rhinoplasties, for instance a first-time or ‘primary’ rhinoplasty that involves the reduction of a dorsal nasal prominence or ‘hump.’ In most cases, rhinoplasties will involve precise modification of the nasal tip, which is best performed using the ‘open’ technique. This procedure uses the same incisions as the closed technique, and adds a small incision across the columella (the column of tissue between the nostrils). A small external scar results, but this typically heals very well and can be nearly imperceptible. The advantage of the open technique is that is allows the surgeon to better visualize the framework of bone and cartilage that gives the nose its shape. The framework can be precisely altered with the open technique, so as to achieve the desired result with enhanced reliability and predictability.
Depending on the needs of the patient, rhinoplasty may involve the removal or repositioning of cartilage and bone, or the addition of cartilage from the nasal septum or ear. Other tissues, or even synthetic materials, are sometimes used.
When nasal surgery is performed to enhance breathing, procedures may include: septoplasty (modification of the nasal septum, which is the plate of cartilage between the right and left nasal passages), turbinate surgery (modification of tissues deep within the nasal cavity) , or alteration of the nasal framework– most often in an area of the upper nasal passages termed the ‘internal valve.’
Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure, and under a general anesthetic in most cases. After the surgery, a splint is usually placed over the nose for protection and stabilization, and packing may be used in the nostrils if the nasal passages or nasal bones are altered. Pain and discomfort following the surgery are controlled with oral pain medication, and the stitches and splint are removed within one week after surgery. Nasal packing, when used, is removed within one to three days. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work within one to two weeks. Most bruising resolves within two weeks, though more subtle swelling may persist for longer periods.

Women with very large, pendulous breasts may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight-from back and neck pain and skin irritation to skeletal deformities and breathing problems.
Breast reduction, technically known as reduction mammaplasty, is designed for such women. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
The Best Candidates for Breast Augmentation
Breast reduction is usually performed for physical relief rather than simply cosmetic improvement. Most women who have the surgery are troubled by very large, sagging breasts that restrict their activities and cause them physical discomfort.
In most cases, breast reduction isn’t performed until a woman’s breasts are fully developed; however, it can be done earlier if large breasts are causing serious physical discomfort. The best candidates are those who are mature enough to fully understand the procedure and have realistic expectations about the results. Breast reduction is not recommended for women who intend to breast-feed.
All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and Risk
Breast reduction is not a simple operation, but it’s normally safe when performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. Nevertheless, as with any surgery, there is always a possibility of complications, including bleeding, infection, or reaction to the anesthesia. You can reduce your risks by closely following your physician’s advice both before and after surgery.
The procedure does leave noticeable, permanent scars, although they’ll be covered by your bra or bathing suit. (Poor healing and wider scars are more common in smokers.) The procedure can also leave you with slightly mismatched breasts or unevenly positioned nipples. Future breast-feeding may not be possible, since the surgery removes many of the milk ducts leading to the nipples.
Planning Your Surgery
In your initial consultation, it’s important to discuss your expectations frankly with your surgeon, and to listen to his opinion. Every patient-and every physician, as well-has a different view of what is a desirable size and shape for breasts.
Your surgeon will describe the procedure in detail, explaining its risks and limitations and making sure you understand the scarring that will result. The surgeon will also explain the anesthesia he or she will use, the facility where the surgery will be performed, and the costs.
He will discuss the variables that may affect the procedure-such as your age, the size and shape of your breasts, and the condition of your skin. You should also discuss where the nipple and areola will be positioned; they’ll be moved higher during the procedure, and should be approximately even with the crease beneath your breasts.

Patients who desire an abdominoplasty in Austin Texas usually are seeking to reduce the size of a protruding abdominal area. This plastic surgery procedure is best for individuals who are unable to eliminate their protruding abdomen through exercise and dieting. Such factors may affect an individual”s confidence, leading them to seek tummy tuck surgery.
An abdominoplasty can help such individuals restore a thinner and fitter looking contour to their bodies. The tummy area is made smaller to better match the body of the patient. Austin plastic surgeon Dr. Wishnew accomplishes this by removing excess fat and skin in the abdominal area and tightening the underlying muscle tissues. This not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and respect to the patient.
An abdominoplasty is a very individualized procedure in which your goals should be realistically determined and discussed with your plastic surgeon. Together you will determine what specific procedures will be performed. An abdominoplasty is often performed in conjunction with other procedures such as liposuction so that the hips can be shaped to match the smaller tummy. Once your goals have been determined you will set a date for this procedure and will be given instructions about how to prepare.
When the date for your abdominoplasty has arrived, you should plan on the surgery taking several hours or more depending on which procedures you are having performed. Two procedures are available, the full abdominoplasty or the partial abdominoplasty for patients who only need to reduce the lower belly. The physician will create an incision that runs along the lower waist line and then will remove excess fat and skin. The abdominal muscles will then be tightened and set into place.
The full tummy tuck differs from the partial procedure in the extent of work done. Generally, the partial procedure does not require the naval to separated from tissue below it while the full procedure does. The full procedure has a greater effect in reducing the size of the abdomen, but recovery time for the partial procedure is usually shorter and results in a smaller scar.
The abdominal area may experience some pain and swelling during the first few days following the procedure. Dr. Wishnew will likely advise you on other precautions to take following the surgery. Several weeks recovery time is usual and exercise will often help speed the recovery process after the initial recovery period. All procedures are performed with anesthesia to minimize any discomfort or pain.
Dr. Wishnew can help you achieve your goals. To schedule an appointment or to learn more about having an abdominoplasty in Austin Texas, please contact us today.

The Best Candidates for Rhinoplasty
The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you’re physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.
Rhinoplasty can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes-to correct birth defects or breathing problems.
Age may also be a consideration. Many surgeons prefer not to operate on teenagers until after they’ve completed their growth spurt-around 14 or 15 for girls, a bit later for boys. It’s important to consider teenagers’ social and emotional adjustment, too, and to make sure it’s what they, and not their parents, really want.
All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and Risk
When rhinoplasty is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, there is always a possibility of complications, including infection, nosebleed, or a reaction to the anesthesia. You can reduce your risks by closely following Dr. Ebert’s instructions both before and after surgery.
After surgery, small burst blood vessels may appear as tiny red spots on the skin’s surface; these are usually minor but may be permanent. As for scarring, when rhinoplasty is performed from inside the nose, there is no visible scarring at all; when an “open” technique is used, or when the procedure calls for the narrowing of flared nostrils, the small scars on the base of the nose are usually not visible.

The Cutera Titan gives you an all-natural option to enhance skin tone. Titan uses light energy to heat the dermis deep beneath your skin’s surface. Without surgery, recovery time, or injections, Titan is an ideal solution for your face, abdomen, arms and more.
How does the Cutera Titan work?
Titan uses a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. During the procedure, the skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece.
The Titan difference
Titan’s light-based platform provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radio-frequency).
Who can be treated?
Since the Titan procedure heats tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated.

Breast lift Atlanta, also known as mastopexy, is an effective way to lift and reshape breasts that have lost volume and elasticity. A popular procedure at our Georgia office, breast lift Atlanta can help you look and feel more confident in your clothes and significantly improve self-image.
Patients wishing to increase breast volume may also consider having breast implant surgery at our Atlanta area office in conjunction with breast lift Atlanta to further enhance results.
Usually performed under general anesthesia, the breast lift Atlanta procedure can take anywhere from one to four hours, depending on the extent of the surgery. The goal for our Georgia office staff for all breast lift Atlanta procedures is to lift and reshape the breast to obtain a more youthful, yet natural looking appearance. This is achieved by removing excess, sagging skin and repositioning the nipples. Dr. R. Morgan Davoudi will discuss several different surgical approaches and, after a thorough examination and consultation, he will recommend the breast lift Atlanta technique that will work best for you.
Breast lift Atlanta usually takes one and half to three and half hours. The most common breast lift Atlanta procedure involves an anchor shaped incision across the base of the breast as well as incisions around the areolas and an incision between the areola and the base of the breast. The incision outlines the area from which the breast skin will be removed and defines the new location for the nipple. The nipple and areola are moved to a higher position with the removal of excess skin. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought down to reshape the breast. Maximal correction of the breast shape is possible but at the cost of more scarring.

A facelift (technically known as rhytidectomy) can’t stop this aging process. What it can do is “set back the clock,” improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. Most patients are in their forties to sixties, but facelifts can be done successfully on people in their seventies or eighties as well.
A facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self- confidence in the process. But it can’t give you a totally different look, nor can it restore the health and vitality of your youth.
All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and Risk
When a facelift is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Still, individuals vary greatly in their anatomy, their physical reactions, and their healing abilities, and the outcome is never completely predictable.
Complications that can occur include hematoma (a collection of blood under the skin that must be removed by the surgeon), injury to the nerves that control facial muscles (usually temporary), infection, and reactions to the anesthesia. Poor healing of the skin is most likely to affect smokers.
You can reduce your risks by closely following your surgeon’s advice both before and after surgery.
The Surgery
A facelift usually takes several hours-or somewhat longer if you’re having more than one procedure done.
Incisions usually begin above the hairline at the temples, extend in a natural line in front of the ear (or just inside the cartilage at the front of the ear), and continue behind the earlobe to the lower scalp.
The skin is separated from the fat and muscle below. Fat may be removed from around the neck and chin to improve the contour. Dr. Marouk then tightens the underlying muscle and membrane, pulls the skin back, and removes the excess. Stitches secure the layers of tissue and close the incisions; metal clips may be used on the scalp.
Following surgery, a small, thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin behind your ear to drain any blood that might collect there. The surgeon may also wrap your head loosely in bandages to minimize bruising and swelling.
If you are considering a facelift in Phoenix Arizona contact cosmetic surgeon Robert Marouk. Facial plastic surgery procedures offered at the Cosmetic Surgical Art Center in Phoenix Arizona include facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, neck lift surgery, blepharoplasty, lip augmentation and ear surgery.

Reshaping your breasts, whether by a lift, an augmentation, or a reduction, can have a powerful effect on your overall self image and confidence. Dr Mosharrafa specializes in a number of breast enhancement procedures.
Breast Augmentation - is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge the shape of the breasts. It is designed to increase the size of small or underdeveloped breasts. Surgery can also restore and enhance your breast volume if it has decreased as a result of having children. This procedure is performed by placing the implant behind the existing breast tissue and/or the pectoral major muscle. The method of inserting your implant will depend on your anatomy and your surgeon’s recommendation. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola, or in the armpit. Breast augmentation can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence.
Breast Lift - raises and recontours loose, sagging breasts. You may decide you would like a breast lift because you have lost volume and tone in your breasts after having children. Another reason for having this procedure is the loss of a significant amount of weight. A breast lift improves the appearance of your breasts in several ways. It elevates your breast tissue, removes excess skin from the lower portion of your breast and the reshapes your remaining breast skin. At the same time it relocates your nipple and areola to a higher position.
Breast Reduction - or Reduction Mammaplasty is a procedure to reduce the size of large breasts and create smaller more youthful appearing breasts. Women frequently choose this operation because of back, neck and shoulder aches created by the large size of their breasts. Breast reduction can be performed at any age on a healthy woman, but it is usually recommended to wait until the breasts are fully developed. Some women decide to wait to have the surgery until their childbearing is over since childbirth and breastfeeding can cause unpredictable changes to the breasts and breast-feeding may not be possible after breast reduction surgery. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola. The goal is to give a woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
Breast Reconstruction - is one of the most rewarding surgical procedures available to women who have had a breast removed due to cancer or other diseases. New medical techniques and devices have made it possible for surgeons to create a breast that can come close in form and appearance to matching a natural breast. Frequently, reconstruction is possible immediately following breast removal (mastectomy), so the patient wakes up with a breast mound already in place.

Procedure Description:
This procedure improves the shape of the breast and elevates and downsizes the nipple complex.
What To Expect:
Breast lifting can be done with or without changing the size of the breast. If more fullness is desired, Dr. Flint will recommend that an implant be added. If the breasts are very heavy and pendulous the breast may be downsized at surgery. It depends on your goals. Most importantly, the shape will be improved and the nipple complex will be downsized and moved up higher.
The scar pattern varies depending on how much lift is required and the pre-operative size of the breasts. Most patients find the improvement in shape well worth the trade off of having a scar. Scars generally fade nicely with time.
Preprocedure:
Dr. Flint will meet with you and discuss your goals regarding your breast surgery. She will examine you and discuss your options and make recommendations. all of your questions will be answered. You will be given information regarding the fees and an opportunity to select a date for your surgery if you so desire.
Postprocedure:
You will be able to go home about two hours after your surgery. Dr. Flint will see you in the office in one to two days and place you in a sports bra at that time. Three weeks later she will re-examine you and allow you to return to full activities. Most people take one to two weeks off of work. Discomfort is mild and should resolve within seven to ten days. Breast shape will be improved immediately but will continue to improve over the first three post-operative months.

Miami’s facelift expert, Dr. Sam Gershenbaum, brings state-of-the-art techniques and experience to every facial surgery procedure at our Miami, Florida center, including facelift, brow lift, rhinoplasty, ear reshaping, and more.
A facelift can improve the most visible signs of aging by sculpting and tightening the deeper structures and foundation of the face and neck. As we age, the effects of gravity, sun exposure, weight fluctuations, smoking, heredity, and the daily stresses of life begin to reveal themselves in our faces. Facelift surgery can bring youth back to a patient’s face. In youth, the face is firm and smooth due to good skin elasticity and proper positioning of normal facial fat. As we age, skin elasticity and muscle tone weaken, and facial fat descends, causing prominent skin folds, deep creases between the nose and corner of the mouth. Jowls become prominent along with fat deposits and loose skin in the neck.
A facelift won’t stop this process, but it can “turn back the hands of time.” A facelift (technically referred to as Rhytidectomy) is designed to reduce much of the looseness and many of the heavy wrinkles and folds in the face and neck. It will also improve the contour of the jaw and necklines. A facelift will not, however, completely remove every fold, line, and wrinkle. There is limited improvement around the eyes and with fine lines of the facial skin. A facelift alone will not improve “smoker’s” lines around the mouth, acne scars, or a poor complexion. Other options exist to treat these problems, including laser treatment, dermabrasion, and chemical peels.
At our Miami, Florida center, many facelift procedures are combined with a forehead and brow lift, upper and/or lower eyelid surgery, and “cheekbone” (malar) augmentation. Frequently, chin implants are placed to improve the profile proportions of the jaw line and increase the projection of the chin. These additional procedures may be performed at the same time and in combination with facelift and neck lift surgery or as independent procedures at a later date.
